We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to define, implement, and manage all aspects of the artwork process from customer interface to production.
Main Duties:
Manage the artwork process within the business:
- Manage the artwork process within the business.
- Devise, manage and maintain a robust business process for the management of customer artwork.
- Implement a consistent Artwork Review process to evaluate printability and operational efficiency whilst meeting customer expectations around Quality and Service.
- Work with departmental managers to ensure the agreed process is adhered to throughout the business, identifying, resolving, and rectifying any issues arising within the process.
- Develop appropriate reports to present data on the effectiveness of the department
Manage reprographics partners to suit the needs of the business:
- Liaise with our reprographic partners to share best practice and build relationships to provide training and development opportunities for yourself and the team.
- Carry out an assessment of potential reprographic partners.
- Audit of preferred repro partners through consistent evaluation
- Decision on who to use based on value judgement.
- Design and implementation of process to interact with agreed suppliers.
- Support Procurement / Supply Chain Department to determine competitive pricing and agreed service levels.
- Continuous improvement of process and supplier support
Colour management:
- Completion of colour management audit
- Liaison with customer/artwork provider
- Defining expectation prior to receipt of customer artwork
- Attendance at relevant customer prepress meetings
- Standardisation of process and standards with Parkside Asia
- Work alongside the Ink Co-Ordinator to establish a consistent approach to colour management.
- Define parameters around anilox specification on a job-by-job basis.
- Work alongside Production Management to efficiently manage customer press passes to ensuring customer expectations are managed and met.
New Business Development and Support:
- Liaise with the Sales team to measure new business won in terms of supporting RFT delivery on new business and extending Parkside’s influence up the artwork chain to support further business.
- Supporting customer project delivery through from customer artwork receipt to customer printed supply.
- Support customer meetings with external sales to ensure smooth implementation of new business.
Operations:
- Support the QHSE manager in resolving NCR’s in relation to print / colour issues.
- Lead and attend artwork review meetings, offering support and advice on the production of new or existing artwork.
- Understand, review and discuss requirements of laser related issues with Technical and Laser Teams.
Effectively Manage Graphics and Support team:
- Manage, coach and mentor all members of the Graphic Support team.
- Identify training needs of the team.
- Establish personal development plans within business expectations.
- Generate individual team member’s objectives.
- Monitor and review objectives through the year.
- Monitor the team’s performance and carry out annual appraisals.
- Ensure roles and objectives are communicated and clearly understood by team members.
General:
- Ensure all technical knowledge remains relevant and current.
- Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures at all times.
- Be flexible to support and assist outside normal working hours when necessary.
- Assist with other activities within the realm of your capabilities when required.
