Specialist packaging solutions provider, Parkside, exhibited at the recent Lord Mayor’s Show in London and received great feedback on its compostable packaging range.
The show attracts more than half a million people every year, the highlight of which is a parade of around 150 floats from different organisations and over 7,000 performers. Parkside showcased its Park2NatureTM range within the Bloomberg Arcade located on the parade route.
Teaming up with brand clients, Percol Coffee, Alara Wholesome Foods, Two Farmers Crisps and Rhythm 108, Parkside was seeking to build awareness of its compostable packaging solutions with the public and gauge their opinion on packaging as a whole. Parkside also took the opportunity to educate the public on the development of compostable packaging, how it works in the home and the difference it can make to the environment.
Phil O’Driscoll, Innovation Director at Parkside, said: “Our strategy at Parkside is distinctly different to the rest of the packaging industry. We truly believe packaging makes the difference to brands and their consumers and it was great to test out our strategy with the public and garner their feedback on what we are doing. It was also a pleasure to work with our clients on the event. The public loved the products we were showcasing and were delighted to see that Parkside, and our customers, are stepping up for the environment.”
Parkside received extremely positive feedback from the public with many expressing that they would pay more for sustainable packaging, which has often been a block to new environmentally friendly solutions being developed. Indeed many visitors indicated that they would like to see more brands taking this approach to managing their packaging.
As a result of the event, Parkside clients felt the overwhelming public opinion fully justified their decision to use compostable packaging which complements their brands ethos.
