Packaging solutions specialist, Parkside, will be exhibiting at the Plastic Free World Conference & Expo in Frankfurt on June 27 & 28.

The manufacturer will showcase its pioneering range of industrial and home compostable packaging solutions, developed under the Park2Nature brand, which is accredited by TUV (formerly Vincotte). Parkside’s fully accredited solutions are designed to break down within 26 weeks in a home composting environment.

“We’re delighted to be demonstrating our compostable laminate solutions at the Plastic Free World Expo,” said Paula Birch, Sales Director at Parkside. “More companies are putting sustainability at the core of their business and are looking for packaging designs that do not sacrifice durability or quality. At Parkside we’ve implemented a decade of research and development to present a credible packaging alternative to unrecyclable flexible packaging that perfectly meets the challenges of today’s society.”

The innovative packaging comprises a cellulose multi-layer laminate created from wood-pulp that has been sustainably sourced from waste from eucalyptus plantations. The laminates have been designed with the functionality of conventional plastics, including the high barrier performance required to maintain food freshness and shelf-life.

Held at the Kap Europa Congress Centre, Plastic-Free World Conference & Expo is a senior executive level conference that focusses on promoting and discussing sustainable alternative materials in the modern-day supply chain.

The congress invites leaders from key industries including packaging, retail, food and beverage, aerospace and fashion, to examine and debate the latest developments in sustainable packaging, recycling, compostable and bio-sourced materials.

June’s conference is expected to attract over 400 sustainability leaders from various industries and supply chains, as well as more than 80 international speakers. It is one of the largest events of its kind, providing knowledge exchange and discussion alongside an opportunity to meet the companies behind today’s packaging innovations.

Visitors to the exhibition are invited to visit the Parkside team on Stand 14, to find out more about the trailblazing compostable laminate, as well as the wider packaging offering available from Parkside.
