Packaging solutions specialist, Parkside, has been shortlisted for two Starpack Awards in the food and drink category for packs it created for innovative brands Percol Coffee and Two Farmers Crisps.
Working in partnership with Futamura, a provider of renewable and compostable cellulose films, Parkside developed innovative compostable pack solutions for Percol and Two Farmers, which enabled them to become the first in the world to utilise compostable packaging in their respective market categories.
Paula Birch, Sales Director at Parkside, said: “Environmental responsibility is a significant concern for customers following widespread recent media coverage of issues such as litter and recycling. Packaging is at the forefront of this debate and requires new innovative solutions to ensure companies are aligning to consumer attitudes and utilising packaging that is good for the environment.
“These two solutions form part of our Park2NatureTM range helping to address end-of-life challenges and consumer behaviour. We’re extremely proud to see that our industry-leading innovation in this area has been recognised with these Starpack Award shortlistings.” Both entries for Parkside will also be considered for the premier awards which includes best in show, as well as the people awards which commends the best team and individuals involved in the creation of the packaging.
The Starpack Awards celebrate excellence in packaging and the fantastic work being done in process development and engineering, focusing on innovation and recognition of personal as well as corporate achievement.
