What a whirlwind few years we’ve had at Parkside! From our new Innovation Suite, and the subsequent innovative product launches and numerous exhibitions, our hard work has certainly paid off. Our success was reflected in top industry awards we scooped in 2015 and 2016. As we look forward to working with our customers on new projects in 2017, we reflect on some of our top packaging concepts and collaborations to date.

Stellar performance at the Stationers’

We won not one but two awards at the Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards in June 2015. Out of the 32 companies that entered, Parkside took home a Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Award, as well as a special award for sustainability.

Solutions Park 2 Nature®, our range of home compostable barrier laminate structures and Parkscribe LIDD®, our revolutionary duplex laminate lidding film, were both highlighted at the event. In addition, our innovative yet sustainably responsible approach was commended by the judges.

And the success didn’t stop there, 2016 was also another great year for Parkside at the Stationers. We came away with a further Innovation Excellence Award for our protective packaging solution, Rockpocket™.

EFIA Excellence

We took top prize for the second year running at the European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) Print Awards in 2016. Gold was awarded in the Sustainable Manufacturing and Product Innovation category for our Parkscribe® sandwich wrap. Our continued commitment to delivering new market standards for flexo printed pack designs was also recognised at the ceremony.

In 2015, we won awards at the same event for the development of our compostable flexible pack and LIDD® solutions.
The 2017 EFIA Print Awards Gala Dinner is set to take place on 16th March – fingers crossed our luck at EFIA continues.

Steaming ahead at the Starpack and UK Packaging Awards

Our innovative self-venting microwave steam bag for frozen vegetables, Parkscribe™ Steam, won bronze at the 2016 Starpack Industry Awards and ‘highly commended’ in the Best New Concept category at the UK Packaging Awards 2016.

The award-winning pack was praised as ‘an incredibly effective solution for on-the-go consumption’ thanks to its novel design. Following this high level of recognition, we look forward to Parkscribe Steam reaching its optimum potential with retailers – here’s to new partnerships in 2017.

Shortlisted as sustainable leaders at the Edie Awards

Parkside was chosen as one of the UK’s most sustainable companies back in 2016, for the Sustainable packaging category, mainly thanks to our compostable solutions. Despite not winning in the award ceremony that took place on 25th January 2017, we’re very happy to have been ranked as a finalist in the prestigious event.

Sweet success at the FMT Awards

Our new ‘Snap & Go’ snack pack, created in collaboration with Burton’s Biscuits’ for Cadbury Chocolate Fingers, took Parkside to victory at the 2017 Food Management Today Industry Awards for the Most Innovative Packaging Development. Not only this but our Parkscribe® Steam solution was yet again recognised and named runner-up in the same category. We’re off to a flying start in 2017…

Food Management Today Awards

So, why the recap? If you’re wondering why we’re proud to show off our accolades, it’s because we’re pleased to be recognised as a company that creates innovative packaging solutions that add real value to brand owners, converters and consumers alike. And more often than not, collaborations with our partners and customers are the key to market-relevant innovation. So, it’s important that we recognise this too.

Our Advanced Packaging Expertise (APEX) team will continue to work with our partners and customers to produce award-worthy innovations into 2017. And we intend to do our utmost as a team to ensure this winning streak is one to stay!
