Parkside delivers cracking Easter donation to The Addy children’s charity

Staff at flexible packaging expert Parkside spent the Easter period giving back to their local community as they delivered a large batch of Easter eggs to The Addy, a local children’s charity.

The Addy is a Knottingley-based charity situated on one of the most deprived residential estates in the UK, providing hot meals, support, and activities for children and the elderly. It has become a community hub for the Knottingley area, ensuring vulnerable children have a safe place to learn and play outside of schooltime, while also welcoming older individuals struggling with isolation.

Parkside’s support ensures that everyone who attended The Addy over the Easter period received an egg. It also enabled The Addy’s staff to put on an Easter egg hunt for children over the bank holiday weekend.

“While we have grown into an international company, we’re also proud of our roots,” said Julia O’Loughlin, Group Marketing Manager at Parkside, who delivered the eggs along with Debbie Hargrave, PA to the Managing Director. “We like to take every opportunity we can to give a little back to the local community that has been our home since the 1950s. The Addy is a fantastic local charity that works tirelessly to ensure that vulnerable children and older adults have access to a safe space and a hot meal whenever they need it.

“The Addy’s work is all the more important during times like Easter, especially during the cost-of-living crisis when many families may find their budgets unable to stretch to treats like Easter eggs. Places like The Addy add a little Easter magic to people who need it most, and every member of our team is proud to play a small part in putting smiles on faces.”

Parkside regularly supports The Addy with donations and has pledged further support for Christmas.
