Resealable packaging

Benefits consumers can enjoy again and again
Our resealable solutions have applications across any flexible packaging format, from lidding films to pouches and bags.
Designing resealable functionality into a pack has many benefits, particularly in food and dried goods applications – and consumers increasingly recognise this, creating exciting potential for on-shelf differentiation.
Reclosable lidding film
Our range of lidding film solutions includes options to meet any specification, including recyclable paper-based films, high-barrier PP and PET options, and much more. Adding a reclosable lidding film to a tray or punnet is ideal for adding a convenient opening mechanism for consumers and helping to keep food fresh, therefore helping to reduce food waste.

Reclosable pouches and bags
For products like coffee and large packs of pasta, a resealable solution enables consumers to keep their products fresher for longer, helping prevent waste and ensuring they get the full value of their purchase.
ParkScribe™ technology
At Parkside, we use our innovative ParkScribe laser system to create resealable packaging solutions.
Increasingly, consumers look for resealable packaging that helps keep products fresh even after opening, helping to fight food waste. Parkside offers a wide range of resealable solutions for a variety of products across a range of pack formats and lidding films.
Our unique laser scribing solution can cut laminates and films with micron-level precision, and it can create an integral opening of any size, shape, or position on any pack. This enables the creation of easy peel-and-reseal openings in crisp packets, coffee pouches, bags of pasta, chilled meat trays, and more.
It can produce peel-and-reseal lidding films that are welded to their trays for simple recycling, combining product preservation with end-of-life sustainability. And, by eliminating the need for additional tear strips and zip closures in pouches, it meets the sustainability demands of many of today’s retailers.
The primary role of packaging is to prevent waste by protecting and preserving products through the supply chain – not to generate it. When partnering with Parkside, businesses have more options than ever to help reduce product and packaging waste.

Portion control solutions
Designing packs to incorporate portion control features can further elevate sustainable design and extend the life of the opened product. When applied to packs of crisps or chilled meat, for example, consumers don’t have to finish off the pack in one sitting.
We can also create separate openings in multi-cavity trays that contain multiple portions of food, helping to reduce food waste and promote portion control.
ParkScribe uses a laser to quickly and precisely score a substrate. It can create an integral opening of any size, shape, or position on the pack.
Using a lidding film or laminate made from two or more layers of a recyclable polymer with an adhesive between layers, it can create an integral peel-and-reseal lid which can be welded to a tray. If the tray is made of the same polymer as the lidding film, this makes the pack suitable for recycling as the tray and film can go into the same recycling stream without having to be separated.
It also eliminates the need for zippers, reclose labels, and buttons on pouches, which can impair recyclability.
