Parkside has begun the year on a positive note after it revealed its staff had raised £500 to support Trinity Mission, a local charity that supports vulnerable individuals in the Castleford, West Yorkshire area.
The team took part in a number of fundraising activities over the Christmas period, including dress down Fridays, a Christmas quiz, a fuddle, a wine raffle, and a Christmas jumper competition. The charity was chosen by Serina Dimmock, Human Resources Co-ordinator, as part of her prize for winning the jumper competition with a spectacular light-up sweater.
After raising £376.20 through staff collections, Parkside rounded up the donation to £500 before it was delivered to Trinity Mission in January, continuing Parkside’s record of donating to worthy causes and supporting its local community.
Julia O’Loughlin, Group Marketing Manager at Parkside, said, “Parkside has been part of the fabric of this area for decades, and we have a long history of giving back to the community. We’re proud to continue that tradition as we enter 2025, and long may it continue.
Trinity Mission is a cause that’s close to our hearts – and it was great fun being part of the team involved in raising funds that will support people in our local community.”
Parkside has previously donated to Trinity Mission alongside regular donations to The Addy, a Knottingley-based charity that provides play sessions and support for children and families in the area. Last year, it supported The Addy with donations of Easter eggs and Christmas presents to put smiles on the faces of children who need it the most.
“The work these charities do provides invaluable support to people all year round,” added Julia. “It’s a privilege to be able to play our part in that, and we plan to continue supporting local causes through 2025 and beyond.”
