How long have you been working at Parkside?
I’ve worked at Parkside for almost 12 years, starting in October 2012 as a Technical Support Manager before progressing to my current position in the Parkside Asia team.
What are your responsibilities as Special Projects Manager at Parkside?
I’m responsible for delivering strategic, business critical projects with an emphasis on commercialising new products operationally and technically.
Describe your job in three words:
Challenging – Although I’ve worked at Parkside for 12 years now, this role is a new start for me and there is still a lot to learn! I’ve thrown myself into these challenges and am looking forward to exploring the opportunities.
Exciting – Flexible packaging is a dynamic, evolving industry, and each day brings new opportunities. I particularly enjoy getting to learn more about the packaging sector, working on new innovations, and collaborating with teams across the company to see how everything operates.
Fun – Put simply, I love what I do! This is a great role to work in and I’m thrilled that I get to contribute to our exciting new products.
What’s the best part about your job?
As Special Projects Manager, I get to work across many different departments interacting with people from across the company to collaborate on exciting new developments. This means there is always something to learn.
What’s your most used productivity hack?
Don’t spend 20 minutes drafting an e-mail when a five-minute chat will do!
Best thing about being part of the Parkside team?
Parkside has proven itself as a dynamic company that can make decisions and react quickly, which has been extremely helpful to the way I work and has resulted in an exciting, supportive working environment.
What is your main accomplishment at work?
I was particularly proud of the contributions I made to the development of Parkside’s even more sustainable tobacco packaging solution, which is now being rolled out around the world.
What are your interests?
In my spare time I’m a keen chef and love anything to do with cooking. I also really enjoy exploring and when I get the chance I’m always excited to visit new countries and experience different cultures.
What was your first job?
I worked in a bookies.
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?
As an avid traveller (and having relocated to Asia for my current role), picking up languages would be really helpful!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Do you like travelling? What’s the best place you’ve visited?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many countries with work, but Italy has always had a special place in heart.
What’s something that you’re proud of?
My two daughters. Both my girls are now grown up, my oldest works in the local school and my youngest has just finished her Master’s Degree and is starting her PhD in Chemistry this September.
