Parkside is celebrating after it achieved a significant health and safety milestone, passing 1000 days without a lost time accident at its Normanton, West Yorkshire, UK site.
The achievement is a testament to Parkside’s intensive focus on health and safety and employee wellbeing and comes six months after Parkside was recertified as a BRCGS AA-rated company.
Rich Hallas, QHSE Manager at Parkside, was overjoyed with the milestone, saying: “Our mission is to ensure all our employees get home safe after every day at work. It should be a mark of pride for every member of staff that we have accomplished this mission for over 1000 days – almost three years.
“Everyone has played their part in this achievement by taking part in safety walks, always wearing requisite PPE, raising near misses, meticulously working according to procedure, taking care of regular maintenance and cleaning, and much more,” said Rich. “Aspects of our business-like process design and everyday housekeeping may not grab the headlines, but they are crucial when it comes to ensuring safety. And this commitment to best practice gives us the platform required to ensure we can provide reliably high levels of quality for our customers.
Parkside is known for its stringent compliance standards and continually works to mitigate key risks through health and safety management systems and staff training.
“This is an amazing achievement,” continued Rich, “but we are determined to keep up the good work and trust our talented staff and rigorous processes to see us through the next 1000 days, too “We believe everyone has a right to feel safe at work, so safety is our number one priority. We will continue to look for ways to refine and improve our procedures where necessary, as we do in every area of our business, to keep our people safe.”
